Slow performance to merge two conference calls into one call in Lync 2013 (Skype for Business)

Symptoms

When you merge two separate calls into one conference call in Microsoft Lync 2013 (Skype for Business), the merge is slow. You may wait 12 to 20 seconds until all participants have joined to the conference and hear each other.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the September 6, 2016, update (KB3118281) for Lync 2013 (Skype for Business).

Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
