Symptoms

When you use Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) to open a Contact, the Contact may be displayed with the note form instead of the Contact form.

Cause

This problem may occur if:
  • You use Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2 (SP2). -and-

  • The Contact has a custom message class (when the Contact is viewed in Microsoft Outlook, the Contact uses a custom Contact form).
OWA cannot view a custom Contact form. OWA displays the standard Contact form for a custom Contact form. However, in Exchange 2000 Service Pack 2, OWA displays the note form instead of the standard Contact form.

Workaround

To work around this problem and view the Contact in OWA, convert the message class field of the Contacts back to IPM.Contact. However, a side effect of this workaround is that you cannot use a custom Outlook form to view the Contacts in Outlook.
