More information

After you install this fix, you have to rebuild the newsgroup folder. This makes the messages that you posted to the newsgroup folder (when the NNTP service was stopped) visible to the NNTP client. To rebuild the newsgroup folder:
1.Start Exchange System Manager.
2.Expand the server_name object, expand the Protocols object, and then expand the NNTP object. Expand the default NNTP server, and then stop the NNTP server.
3.Click the default NNTP virtual server, right-click the default NNTP virtual server, click All Tasks, and then click Rebuild Server.
The time that it takes to rebuild the server is based on the number of items in the newsgroup folders. Therefore, rebuild the newsgroup folder after ordinary business hours.
