PreventDefault() doesn't work in Internet Explorer 11 or Microsoft Edge with IME enabled

Symptoms

In Internet Explorer 11 or Microsoft Edge, the preventDefault method in keyup events may not work correctly when you enable Chinese, Korean, or Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) and select non-alphabet method.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.
