To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Install IIS
Install IIS 5.0 on the Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, and then reinstall Microsoft Exchange System Management Tools. To install IIS, follow these steps:
1. | Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. |
2. | Double-click Add/Remove Programs. |
3. | Click Add/Remove Windows Components. |
4. | In the Windows Components Wizard, click to select the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box, and then click Next. |
5. | In the Completing the Windows Components Wizard dialog box, click Finish. |
6. | In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, click Close. |
Method 2: Replace the Exsetdata.dll File
Replace the existing Exsetdata.dll file with version 6.0.4417.5 of this file, and then reinstall Microsoft Exchange System Management Tools. To do this, follow these steps:
1. | Copy the contents of the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server CD-ROM to a folder on your computer's hard disk. |
2. | Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders. |
3. | In the Search for files or folders named box, type exsetdata.dll. |
4. | In the Look in list, click Local Harddrives, and then click Search Now. |
5. | Replace each listed file with Exsetdata.dll version 6.0.4417.5.
This version of Exsetdata.dll is available on the Exchange 2000 Server CD-ROM. If you do not have an Exchange 2000 Server CD-ROM that contains this version of Exsetdata.dll, contact Microsoft for information about how to obtain this file.

6. | Restart the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Installation Wizard from the folder on the hard disk that contains the Exchange 2000 Server files. To do this, follow these steps:a. | Click Start, and then click Run. | b. | In the Open box, type drive:\exchange folder\launch.exe, and then click OK, where drive is the drive on which you copied the contents of the Exchange 2000 Server CD-ROM and exchange folder is the folder in which you copied the Exchange 2000 Server files. |
