Multiple emergency numbers can now be set in location policy in Skype for Business Server 2015

Summary

This update adds a new feature to enable configuring multiple emergency numbers through location policy in a Skype for Business Server 2015 environment.

Cmdlet Usage

  • To create a location policy to have one emergency number

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>

  • To create a location policy to have one emergency number with one mask

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911 -DialMask 112
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>

  • To create a location policy to have one emergency number with multiple masks

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911 -DialMask 112;999
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>
  • To create a location policy to have multiple emergency numbers without a mask

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911
    > $b = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 112
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a,$b} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>
  • To create a location policy to have emergency numbers with one of the numbers with masks

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911 -DialMask 112;999
    > $b = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 500
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a,$b} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>
  • To create a location policy to have multiple emergency numbers with masks

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911 -DialMask 112;999
    > $b = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 500 -DialMask 501;502
    > New-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{add=$a,$b} -EnhancedEmergencyServicesEnabled $True -PstnUsage <emergency Pstn usage>
  • To change a location policy to have multiple emergency numbers, use the above parameter usage for EmergencyNumbers with the Set-CsLocationPolicy cmdlet.
  • To remove an emergency number entry with Dial string 911 and Dial masks 112 and 999 for an existing location policy

    > $a = New-CsEmergencyNumber -DialString 911 -DialMask 112;999
    > Set-CsLocationPolicy -Identity <id> -EmergencyNumbers @{remove=$a}

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the June 2016 cumulative update 6.0.3919.259 for Skype for Business Server 2015, Front End server and Edge server.
