FIX: WNetAddConnection3 function hangs after a remote server disconnects on a CEPC device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013

Introduction

This article describes an issue that causes the WNetAddConnection3 function to stop running. This issue occurs after the remote server disconnects on a Windows Embedded CE PC-based hardware platform (CEPC) device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

You use the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) on a multi-core CEPC device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013.
The remote server disconnects the session.
A call to the WNetAddConnection3 function occurs several times.

In this scenario, the WNetAddConnection3 function stops responding.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
