Internet Explorer freezes when Skype for Business Browser Helper is enabled

Symptoms

Assume that you enable the Skype for Business Browser Helper (OCHelper.dll) add-in in Internet Explorer for Microsoft Lync 2013 (Microsoft Skype for Business). When you view any webpage that has many images, video content, or a large PPT, the browser becomes very slow and it may freeze.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the June 7, 2016, update (KB3115033) for Lync 2013 (Skype for Business).

Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
