FIX: Distributed XA Transactions cannot be disabled in Microsoft DRDA Service

Summary

The Microsoft DRDA Service does not support the option to disable XA transactions on connections between the DRDA Service and servers that are running Microsoft SQL Server. An option to configure this feature was not implemented.

More information

To improve performance for workloads that do not require full end-to-end protected distributed transactions, the Microsoft DRDA Service configuration and runtime libraries are updated in this update to support the option to disable XA transactions on connections between DRDA Service and SQL Server computers.

To disable XA, specify the following in the sqlApplicationManager portion of the "hostIntegration.drdaAs.drdaService" section of the MsDrdaService.exe.config file:

-    disableXaTransaction = "true"

The fix that resolves this problem is included in the following cumulative updates for Host Integration Server:
