FIX: Windows Embedded Compact 2013 device hangs if SIP is used with Pinyin input

Introduction

This article describes an issue that occurs if a Software Input panel (SIP) is used with Pinyin input. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

You use Microsoft WordPad on a device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. If you select a SIP, use Pinyin input, enter some keyboard characters, and then click Enter, the device stops responding, and an exception is returned to the MSIM component.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
