  • Duplicate entries are created in the two sections after the <location path="Lync Server Internal Web Site" overrideMode="Allow"> and <location path="Lync Server External Web Site" overrideMode="Allow"> tags.

    After the duplicate entries are created, these two sections resemble the following:
    <location path="Lync Server Internal Web Site" overrideMode="Allow">
    <system.webServer>
    <security>
    <authentication>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    </authentication>
    <authentication/>
    </security>
    <security/>
    </system.webServer>
    <system.webServer/>
    </location>
    <location path="Lync Server External Web Site" overrideMode="Allow">
    <system.webServer>
    <security>
    <authentication>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    </authentication>
    <authentication/>
    </security>
    <security/>
    </system.webServer>
    <system.webServer/>
    </location>
  • The following entries are created before the </configuration> tag at the end of the file:

    • <location path="Lync Server Internal Web Site" overrideMode="Allow"/>

    <authentication>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    </authentication>
    </security>
    </system.webServer>
    </location>
    <location path="Lync Server External Web Site" overrideMode="Allow">
    <system.webServer>
    <security>
    <authentication>
    <windowsAuthentication/>
    </authentication>
    </security>
    </system.webServer>
    </location>
  2. Delete the following entries at the end of the ApplicationHost.config file:

    • <location path="Lync Server Internal Web Site" overrideMode="Allow"/>
    • <location path="Lync Server External Web Site" overrideMode="Allow"/>
