Cannot Delete or Overwrite Existing Files on a Removable Medium When You Perform a Backup

Symptoms

When you use the Ntbackup utility to perform a backup to a removable medium (such as a floppy disk) that is low on space, Ntbackup may not provide you with the option to delete files on that medium even if you select Replace existing backups in the Advanced section of the backup wizard.

Workaround

To work around this behavior, delete the existing backup file or some other files on the medium by using Windows Explorer before you perform the backup.
