Symptoms

 Consider the following scenario:
  • You use Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) 5.0 SP3 for Remote Desktop Service (RDS).
  • You log on the App-V and then log off.
In this scenario, the following issues may occur when you try to log on the next time:
  • When you use Mandatory User Profiles (Ntuser.man), you can't logon and receive a "Logon is not possible" error message.
  • When you use Roaming User Profiles (NTuser.dat), a temporary profile will be created on the next logon.

Cause

This issue occurs because the ProfileGUID and ProfileList keys aren't removed from the registry after you log off. This causes the user profile isn't unloaded cleanly.
