Summary

You can access only data stores that are mounted. Dismounted stores may also point to problems with the database files that the store uses. If the database files that are registered in the Active Directory are missing or corrupted, Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2003 cannot mount the store.

Check the Mount Status of Data Stores

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Expand Servers, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
  3. Expand the storage group that you want to work with.
  4. You will see a list of available data stores in the details pane. The icon in front of the data store name indicates the mount status. If the icon shows a red down arrow, the store is not mounted.
