Summary

This step-by-step article tells you how to change the scheduled time for running Exchange Server maintenance routines.

You should run maintenance routines against data stores on a daily basis. By default, Exchange Server runs maintenance tasks daily at 11:00 P.M. If this schedule conflicts with other activities, you can change the maintenance time.

Set Maintenance Intervals of Data Stores

1.Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2.Expand Servers, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
3.Expand the storage group that you want to work with.
4.In the list of available data stores in the details pane, right-click the store that you want to work with, and then click Properties.
5.In the Store Properties dialog box, click the Database tab.
6.Do one of the following:
a. In the Maintenance interval list, click a new interval.
b. Click Customize to access the Schedule dialog box, and then create a custom interval.
7.Click OK.
Note You do not have to remount the database after you make a change to the maintenance schedule. However, the maintenance schedule change may take some time to replicate. The replication time may vary.
