This step-by-step article describes how to dismount a data store (make the data store temporarily inaccessible to users) so that you can perform maintenance or recovery procedures.
Dismount Data Stores
1. | Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager. |
2. | Expand Servers, and then expand the server that you want to work with. |
3. | Expand the storage group that you want to work with. |
4. | In the Details pane, in the list of available data stores, the icon in front of the data store name indicates the status of the data. If the icon shows a red down-arrow, the store is already dismounted. |
5. | Right-click the store that you want to dismount, click Dismount Store, and then click Yes.
