Freeze and Unfreeze All Messages in a Queue

To control the transport of all of the messages that are in a queue, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Click Server, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
  3. Expand Protocols, and then expand the protocol that you want to work with.
  4. Click the virtual server that you want to work with, and then enumerate the queue so that you can see the messages that are in the queue.
  5. Right-click the queue, and then click Freeze All Messages.
  6. To restore operations, right-click the queue, and then click Unfreeze All Messages.

Freeze and Unfreeze Individual Messages in a Queue

To control the transport of an individual message in a queue by selectively freezing that message, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Click Server, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
  3. Expand Protocols, and then expand the protocol that you want to work with.
  4. Click the virtual server that you want to work with, and then enumerate the queue so that you can see the messages that are in the queue.
  5. Right-click the message that you want to freeze, and then click Freeze.
  6. To restore operations for the message, right-click the message, and then click Unfreeze.
