You can't turn on or turn off IME in a Windows Store app in Windows 8.1

Symptoms

This issue occurs on a Windows Store app that uses HTML or JavaScript. Assume that you enter characters in a text field by using Input Method Editor (IME), and then you set the focus on another text field with IME disabled. This issue occurs when you set the focus back to the original text field.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.
