This fix creates a new
RTFSTRIPTAG registry key that you can enable to resolve this problem. Note that enabling this key is performance-intensive, and results in higher processor use. Microsoft recommends that you test and size hardware appropriately before you change this key.
If you enable the
RTFSTRIPTAG key functionality, messages are modified before they are converted from HTML to RTF (before the subsequent conversion to Lotus Notes format). This modification changes sequences of non-breaking spaces (&nsbp; in the HTML source code) into simple spaces.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To enable or disable this functionality, add or modify the
RTFSTRIPTAG key:
1. | Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). |
2. | Locate the following key in the registry (if the RTFSTRIPTAG key does not already exist, add it): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LME-NOTES\Parameters\RTFSTRIPTAG |
3. | On the Edit menu, click REG_SZ, type one of the following values as applicable, and then click OK: | To enable this functionality, set the value to 2. | | To disable this functionality, set the value to 0. |
|
4. | Quit Registry Editor. |
Additional registry keys are also included in this fix.
