Issues that are fixed in this update rollup

  • When the Service Provider Foundation API deletes a virtual machine (VM), the VM is deleted successfully but the associated VM delete action runbook is not triggered.
  • Usage information for all the VMs is not collected if the VMs are created in the same subscription and by having the same VM name.

How to obtain and install Update Rollup 9 for System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation

Update packages for Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation are available from Windows Update or by manual download from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Microsoft Update
To obtain and install an update package from Microsoft Update, follow these steps on a computer that has an Operational Manager component installed:
  1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.
  3. In the Windows Update window, click Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.
  4. Click Important updates are available.
  5. Select the update rollup package, and then click OK.
  6. Click Install updates to install the update package.

Installation instructions
To manually install the update package, run the following command from an elevated command prompt:

msiexec.exe /update kb3133705_Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msp 

Note This update is not listed in the Programs and Features item in Control Panel after you install it. To uninstall this update, you can use one of the following commands.

If you have the original MSI installation media for Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation and the .msp file for this update, run the following command:

msiexec.exe /package Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msi /uninstall kb3133705_Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msp /passive 

If you don't have the original files, you can remove this update by using the GUID references. To do this, run the following command:

msiexec.exe /package "{69344E86-7183-4384-A230-499E9914BE14}" /uninstall "{E88BB151-5AE4-4E0A-8DE6-0FA07F0B996F}" /passive /passive 

Note To be able to use this command, Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation Update Rollup 4 must be installed. Otherwise, the uninstallation process fails.
