The
removeorg option does not provide the following functionality:
- It does not clean up any files or registry keys on the Exchange 2000 servers.
- It does not clean up any Exchange 2000 information that has been replicated to the Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 directory.
- It does not remove any attributes from any Exchange mailboxes in Active Directory (either Exchange Server 5.5 mailboxes that are replicated to Active Directory or Exchange 2000 mailboxes). The Exchange 2000 mailboxes are effectively orphaned if you do not move them or clean them up before you run the removeorg option.
- It does not remove any recipient Connection Agreements or public folder Connection Agreements.
Prerequisites for Running the Removeorg Option
- Make sure that there are no Exchange 2000 mailboxes or any other functionality being used on Exchange 2000 before you running this option; Exchange 2000 servers in your organization will not function after you run this option.
- You must have Full Administrator rights in the organization in addition to Local Machine Administrator rights to run Update.exe with the removeorg option.
- You do not need to run the command from an Exchange 2000 server.
To install Exchange 2000 SP2 with the
removeorg option, run the following command:
update.exe /removeorg
