Introduction

This update provides bug fixes to Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac and Microsoft Word 2016 for Mac. This update has some prerequisites.

Summary

This update provides the following fixes.

Outlook

  • The reading pane maintains its size when you switch folders.
  • The size and location of the reading pane persist when you restart Outlook.

Note We're aware that you may be experiencing other resizing issues that affect the reading pane and the navigation pane in Outlook in certain scenarios. We invite you to report these issues by using the feedback tool within Outlook. To do this, click the smiley face symbol beneath the search field, and then click Tell Us What Can Be Better. In the Microsoft Office Feedback window, type #pane and a description of the issue. To help us understand the issue better, please include an appropriate screen shot.

Word

  • The Bold, Italic, and Underline buttons now display the correct icons.
  • Other fixes.

To install this update, you must be running OS X Yosemite 10.10 or a later version, and you must have a valid Office 365 Subscription. Additionally, see more information about Office 365 Subscription options.

Note If you already have Office for Mac 2011, you will be able to run Office 2011 and Office 2016 side by side.
