Server applications that require SNMP can't work after the upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2

Symptoms

After you upgrade a server to Windows Server 2012 R2, some server applications that require Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) may not work. In addition, the following events are logged in the Event Log:

Cause

This issue occurs because the application's SNMP hooks may not be migrated during the upgrade.

Resolution

To work around the issue, reinstall the applications that require SNMP.
