Summary

This article describes update 3114560 for Microsoft Outlook 2010, which was released on December 16, 2015. This update has a prerequisite.

Note Currently KB3114560 is not available from Windows Update and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). You can download and install it only from the Microsoft Download Center. This update is included in 2016 January Office Update KB3114570 through Windows Update and WSUS.

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes an issue in which Outlook 2010 starts only in safe mode. This issue occurs after you install the December 8, 2015, update for Outlook 2010 (KB3114409). To fix the issue, uninstall KB3114409, and then install KB3114560.

To apply this update, you must have Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 2 installed.

Note You may also need to apply Language Pack Service Pack 2 for any Language Packs you previously installed.

How to uninstall this update
Windows 10

  1. Go to Start, enter View Installed Updatesin the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.
  2. In the list of updates, locate and then select update KB3114560, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.
  2. Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.
  3. In the list of updates, locate and then select update KB3114560, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP

  1. Go to Start, enter Run, and then click Run.
  2. Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you're running.

    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista


      1. Click View installed updates.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and select update KB3114560, and then click Uninstall.
    • Windows XP


      1. Select the Show updates check box.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and select update KB3114560, and then click Remove.
