Introduction

This article describes an issue in which an exception occurs when you build the Nk.bin file and then start SSL communications in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

You set the following registry settings on a device that is running Windows Embedded Compact 2013:

Setting 1

Registry location:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Ciphers\RC4 128/128DWORD name: Enabled
DWORD value: 0

Setting 2

Registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Hash\SHA
DWORD name: Enabled
DWORD value: 0

Setting 3

Registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\KeyExchangeAlgorithms\PKCS
DWORD name: Enabled
DWORD value: 0

When you build the Nk.bin file and then start SSL communications, you receive an exception.

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
