What Is Differrence between rxImport and rxDataStep

View products that this article applies to.

There is some overlap in capability between rxImport and rxDataStep but rxImport would typically be used for importing a non-xdf data source to .xdf, Revo R's preferred data format. rxDataStep is generally used to perform transformations between two data sets where both the input and output data sets may be .xdf. Both functions work equally well in a local compute context or in a Hadoop compute context. Neither is a distributable function or will perform its operation in parallel whether local or Hadoop.
