DeployR process ownership and permissions

View products that this article applies to.

If DeployR is installed in a Linux environment using the root user, the Tomcat, MongoDB, Rserve processes as well as the R sessions invoked to run scripts will all run as user 'Apache'. Access to scripts and datasets as well as any SELinux access controls should take this into account.

If DeployR is installed using a non-root user, all DeployR processes and R sessions will run as that user.

A non-root installation of DeployR is recommended on Linux.
