This article describes an issue that occurs when you copy large files to clustered shared volumes (CSV) storage on Windows Server 2012 R2-based scale-out file servers. A hotfix is available to fix this issue. Before you install this hotfix, see the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • Scale-out file servers have more than 64 gigabytes (GB) of physical memory installed.
  • Scale-out file servers are set to use CSV storage.
  • The CSV cache is enabled, and the cache size is set to 64 GB or larger.
When this issue occurs, you receive the following error message:
ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY
