Partial picking causes issues in inventory transactions in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1

Symptoms

A sales order is created for a quantity where there is no on-hand available in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1. A purchase order is created from the sales order but only part of the quantity is received in this purchase order.

The sales order is then updated by picking these 2 pieces, however when viewing the item's sales transactions, it seems that the reservation is removed and the transactions get "On order" status.

Resolution

The changes in the hotfix keep the fixed and primary dimension consistent with the previous order reservation instead of salesline while trying to update the order reservation to physical reservation.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply the hotfix.
