How to obtain and install Update Rollup 8 for System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation

Windows Update

To obtain and install an update package from Windows Update, follow these steps on a computer that has a Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation component installed:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.
  3. In the Windows Update window, click Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.
  4. Click Important updates are available.
  5. Select the update rollup package, and then click OK.
  6. Click Install updates to install the update package.

Installation instructions
To manually install the update package, run the following command from an elevated command prompt:

msiexec.exe /update kb3096384_Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msp

Note After you install this update, it is not listed in the Programs and Features item in Control Panel. To uninstall this update, you can use one of the following commands.

If you have the original MSI installation media for Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation and the .msp file for this update, run the following command:

msiexec.exe /package Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msi /uninstall kb3096384_Microsoft.SystemCenter.Foundation.Setup_x64.msp /passive


If you don't have the original files, you can remove this update by using the GUID references. To do this, run the following command:

msiexec.exe /package "{69344E86-7183-4384-A230-499E9914BE14}" /uninstall "{D98EB7D2-28AD-448F-928E-A13D1FE39D6B}" /passive


Note To use this command line, Orchestrator - Service Provider Foundation Update Rollup 4 must be installed. Otherwise, the uninstall process will fail.
