View products that this article applies to.

Assume that you install Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 in a side-by-side installation and then uninstall Office 2016. In this scenario, you may experience one of the following issues.

Issue one

When you try to open Word documents in Microsoft Publisher 2013 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2013, you receive the following error message:
Sorry, PowerPoint can't read *.docx.
There is not enough memory to convert the text formatting.
To work around this issue, run an online repair of Office 2013.

Issue two

When you try to open the Word Options dialog box in Microsoft Word 2013, you receive the following error message:
Cannot run XXX.CNV. where <XXX.CNV> is RECOVR32.CNV, WPFT532.CNV and WPFT632.CNV.
To work around this issue, reinstall Office 2013, or install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
