You receive SQL Server error 916 when you try to delete a document in Edit/Select Documents for Payment

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Accounts Payable in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • You sign in to Microsoft Dynamics SL as a user who isn't an administrator.
  • You open Edit/Select Documents for Payment (03.050.00) and try to delete a document that was selected for payment.

When you do this, you receive an error, where SLSystem in the message is the system database name:

SQL Server Message 916

---------------------------

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]The server principal "DOMAIN\USER" is not able to access the database "SLSystem" under the current security context.

Resolution

Hotfix information for Microsoft Dynamics SL
