FIX: Transaction Integrator applications randomly fail in Host Integration Server 2013

Symptoms

Assume that you run hundreds of Transaction Integrator (TI) applications in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2013. Randomly, one or two of the applications may throw the following exception one time per week:
System.NullReferenceException, Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a timing window issue in the Transaction Integrator code.

Resolution

The fix that resolves this problem is included in Cumulative Update 4 for Host Integration Server 2013.
