Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Embedded Compact 7 device that has a Local Area Network validated. When you use the Wireshark network protocol analyzer and run the IPCONFIG command, you receive an expected local address that resembles the following:

290 28.236702000 :: ff02::1:ff14:77e6 ICMPv6 78 Neighbor Solicitation for fe80::9c3:6e65:c914:77e6

Additionally, when you use a display filter in the Wireshark network protocol analyzer, you receive an unexpected local address that resembles the following:

ff02::1:ff14:77e6 ICMPv6 78 Neighbor Solicitation for fe80::9c3:6e65:c914:77e6
Note The following registry setting could invalidate Duplicate address detection (DAD) message of IPv6:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip6\Parms]
"ArpRetryCount" = dword:0
