OLEDB: Complex SELECT Statements Including FROM Clause Fail

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Complex SELECT statements that include FROM clauses may fail to complete successfully when you use the OLE DB Provider for DB2 that is included with Host Integration Server 2000. The exact result of such a SELECT statement varies depending on the syntax of the SELECT statement.

Cause

The OLE DB Provider for DB2 SQL parser does not correctly handle the FROM clause syntax. In addition, joined and derived tables are not supported by the OLE DB Provider for DB2.
