About this update

This update fixes an issue in which Microsoft Azure StorSimple 8000 Series Update 1 (version: 6.3.9600.17491) causes backups to fail to start 24 days after the update is applied.

Note This update will not be offered to appliances that do not have StorSimple 8000 Series Update 1.0 installed.

To apply this update, you must have StorSimple 8000 Series Update 1 installed on appliance devices.

Registry information

To apply this update, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

Restart requirement

The Serial-attached SCSI (SAS) controller will restart and failover after you apply this update.

Update replacement information

This update does not replace a previously released update.

Workaround

To work around this issue for a short term, failover and restart the SAS controller. Then, backups will work for another 24 days.
