FIX: A static IP address is not retained if the March 2015 monthly update is installed on a device that is running Windows Embedded Compact 2013

Introduction

This article describes an issue in which a static IP address is not retained if the March 2015 monthly update is installed on a device that is running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that you have the March 2015 monthly update installed on a device that is running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. You select VMINI in the Network and Dial-up Connections item in Control Panel, you try to set a static IP address (that differs from the DHCP address that is assigned at startup), and then you press OK.

In this situation, when you reopen Network and Dial-up Connections again, the static IP address is not retained. Instead, the device is using the IP address that is assigned by DHCP at startup.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
