Blank page is displayed when you try to access RemoteApps on a Windows-based RD Web Access server

This article describes an issue in which a blank page is displayed when you try to access RemoteApps on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based or Windows Server 2012-based Remote Desktop Web Access (RD Web Access)server. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this hotfix, see the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

This issue occurs when you connect to an RD Web Access server that is running Windows Server 2012 R2, and the number of published RemoteApps on the server is greater than 999.

Resolution

Method 1: Windows Update

This update is provided as an Optional update on Windows Update for Windows Server 2012. For more information on how to run Windows Update, see How to get an update through Windows Update.

Method 2: Hotfix

To resolve this issue for Windows Server 2012 R2, install the hotfix that is described in this article on the RD Web Access server.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix Download Available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have update 2919355 installed in Windows Server 2012 R2.

The English (United States) version of this software update installs files that have the attributes that are listed in the following tables. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Be aware that dates and times for these files on your local computer are displayed in your local time and with your current daylight saving time bias. The dates and times may also change when you perform certain operations on the files.
