Various DAG maintenance scripts do not work in an Exchange Server 2010 environment

Symptoms

This issue occurs when you deploy Windows Management Framework (WMF) 4.0 in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment. The following Microsoft Exchange PowerShell scripts for database availability group (DAG) management do not work:
  • StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1
  • StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1
  • RedistributeActiveDatabases.ps1

Cause

This issue occurs because of a by design logic in an Exchange Server 2010 environment.

Note Exchange Server 2010 PowerShell scripts, Exchange Server 2010 cmdlets and Exchange Server 2010 setup are not supported in Windows PowerShell 4.0 that is included in WMF 4.0.
