Skype for Business that is connected to a wireless network crashes during an audio/video or application sharing session

Symptoms

This issue occurs in one of the following scenarios:
  • A computer that is running a Microsoft Skype for Business client in Windows accesses network by using a wireless network adapter or a point to point protocol (PPP) adapter.
  • The connection-specific DNS suffix of a wireless network adapter exceeds 31 characters. 
  • Driver defined description of the wireless network adapter exceeds 63 characters.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the May 12, 2015, security update for Microsoft Skype for Business (Microsoft Lync 2013).

This issue occurs because Skype for Business enumerates the wireless connection’s information before it starts a media session.
