FIX: High CPU usage when you use the SFTP adapter's default polling interval in BizTalk Server 2013 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you are using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013 R2. When you configure the SFTP receive location by using the default setting of the SFTP adapter to poll SFTP servers every 0 seconds, you may experience high CPU usage on both the BizTalk server and the SFTP server.

Cause

The issue occurs because the default polling interval of the SFTP adapter is 0 seconds. If the SFTP servers are local and have low latency, this polling interval can result in continuous polling. This may cause high CPU usage in the BizTalk process or the SFTP server process, especially on servers that have only a few CPU cores installed.
