FIX: Closing one socket blocks communication with the other socket for 200 milliseconds in Windows Embedded Compact 2013

Introduction

This article describes a problem that occurs when you close one of the two sockets that are used in the same Interrupt Service Thread (IST) after a FIN packet arrives in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that there are two sockets, socket A and socket B. Socket A is receiving data, and socket B is receiving a FIN packet and being closed. When the data packet for socket A and the FIN packet for socket B are processed together in the same IST, the data packet for A is delayed for 200 milliseconds after the FIN packet arrives.

  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
