Windows Azure Pack Service Reporting is not updated and usage data is unavailable or incomplete

Symptoms

After you install an update rollup for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager or Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, no usage information or only partial usage information is available through WAP Service Reporting.

Additionally, the following events may be logged in the Application log:

When this problem occurs, the Operations Manager Settings dialog box in the Virtual Machine Manager Admin console in System Center 2012 R2 may show the following status:

Connection Status: Error

Error details: The credentials used to connect to Operations Manager's management group do not have the necessary permissions. The credentials used to connect to Operations Manager's management group do not have the necessary permissions.

Additionally, you may see an error message that resembles the following in a Virtual Machine Manager debug trace:

Cause

This error may occur if the "Run As" account settings are out of sync between System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager (OpsMgr 2012) and Microsoft System Center 2102 R2 Virtual Machine Manager.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Reassociate the Virtual Machine Manager "Run As" account connection account with the "Run As" profile.Todo this,follow these steps:
    1. Open the Operations Manager console.
    2. In the Administration workspace, expand Run As Configuration, and then expand Profiles.
    3. In the Profiles pane, double-click Virtual Machine Manager Connection Account.
    4. On the Run As Accounts page, add Virtual Machine Manager Connection Account, and then click OK.
    5. Click Save.
  2. Refresh Operations Manager to Virtual Machine Manager integration in the Virtual Machine Manager Admin Console. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In the Admin Console, click Settings.
    2. Click System Center Settings.
    3. Right-click Operations Manager Server, and then click Properties.
    4. On the Details page, click Refresh under Diagnostics.

    Note
    The refresh operation may take lots of time (20 minutes or more) in some environments to finish, depending on the size of the infrastructure.
