Browser doesn't open in Visual Studio when it is installed in Windows 10 Insider Preview

Symptoms

When you install Visual Studio in Windows 10 Insider Preview, and then you try to enable any link, button, or command in Visual Studio that would usually start the default browser, nothing happens.

Note This issue occurs in versions of Visual Studio that are earlier than Visual Studio 2015 Release Candidate (RC). For example, this problem occurs in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010.

Resolution

To work around this issue, change the default browser from Project Spartan to Internet Explorer. This issue has been fixed in Visual Studio 2015 RC.

To change the default browser in Windows 10 Insider Preview, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, click Settings, click System, and then click Default Apps.
  2. Under Web browser, click Project Spartan, and then click Internet Explorer.
