About this update

This is a follow-up update to November 2014 update (3000850) to improve hardening for Rgb9rast.dll binary. The update 3000850 introduced defense-in-depth changes to harden security.

How to obtain this update

Important Do not install a language pack after you install this update. If you do, the language-specific changes in the update will not be applied, and you will have to reinstall the update. For more information, see Add language packs to Windows.

This update is provided as an Optional update from Windows Update.
How to obtain the update from Windows Update
To obtain this update from Windows Update, follow these steps:
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.
  2. In the search box, type Windows Update, and then tap or click Windows Update.
  3. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
  4. If you see a message telling you that optional updates are available, or telling you to review optional updates, click the message to view the optional updates.
  5. In the list, select the check box for update 3055323 under Optional, and then tap or click Install.
