CPU usage increases largely when you have multiple animated emoticons in conversations in Skype for Business

This issue occurs after you apply the April 14, 2015 update for Microsoft Skype for Business.

Note
  • Turning off emoticon animation in the Option dialog box cannot prevent CPU draining. 
  • CPU usage will not decrease until you close the conversation windows.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the May 12, 2015, security update for Skype for Business.
