The ScriptShapeOpenType function returns bad data in the target array for the pwLogClust parameter in Windows

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario when you program by using specified fonts in the Windows versions that are listed in the "Applies to" section:
  • You set the SCRIPT_ANALYSIS.fNoGlyphIndex member to TRUE.
  • You set the SCRIPT_ANALYSIS.fRTL member to TRUE.

In this scenario, the ScriptShapeOpenType function returns bad data in the array that is pointed to by the pwLogClust parameter.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft Support. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. There are no prerequisites for installing this hotfix in Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.

To install this hotfix in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, you must have update 2919355 installed.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you install this hotfix.

The English (United States) version of this hotfix installs files that have the attributes that are listed in the following tables.
