"0x00000027" or "0x00000050" Stop error in the Rdbss.sys driver in Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Symptoms

The Stop error resembles one of the followings:

STOP: 0x00000027 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)

STOP: 0x00000050 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)

Notes
  • The parameters in the error messages vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
  • Not all "0x00000027" or "0x00000050" Stop errors are caused by this problem.

Cause

This issue occurs because there is a race condition in the Redirected Drive Buffering Subsystem (Rdbss.sys) driver.

Hotfix information
