Siebel Open UI client in Internet Explorer 11 performs slowly in Windows 8.1 or Windows 7

This article describes an issue that occurs when you run Siebel Open UI client in Internet Explorer 11 on a computer that is running Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. A hotfix and an update are available to resolve this issue. Before you install this hotfix, check out the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

When you run Siebel Open UI client in Internet Explorer 11, the rendering and layout performance is slower than expected.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. Or, install the hotfix that is described in this article.

Note This update was first included in the March cumulative security update for Internet Explorer (MS15-018).


Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must install MS15-009: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: February 10, 2015 for Internet Explorer 11. Also, you must have update 2919355 installed in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, or have Service Pack 1 installed in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Registry information

To use the hotfix in this package, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
