Memory leak occurs in w3wp.exe, MediationServerSvc.exe, and sqlservr.exe in a Lync Server 2013 environment

Symptoms

This issue occurs after you apply the August 2014 Cumulative Update 5.0.8308.738 for Microsoft Lync Server 2013. When this issue occurs, memory may leak by more than 100 megabytes (MB) every hour.

  • W3wp.exe is a Reach Application Pool process.
  • MediationServerSvc.exe is a Mediation Service process.
  • MediationServerSvc.exe is a Mediation Service process.

To resolve this issue, install the February 2015 Cumulative Update for Lync Server 2013 core components.

This issue occurs because of a deadlock condition in the XdsUpdateReplicaStatus stored procedure.
